Kubrick has only made maybe one bad film. Most of his movies are really great, several are masterpieces including 2001: a Space Odyssey, Dr. Strangelove, Barry Lyndon, The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Paths of Glory, and Spartacus. Even some of his weaker movies are still good: Lolita and Eyes Wide Shut.

Miyazaki has a lot of great stuff, he hasn’t made a single bad movie. His worst stuff is still pretty decent.

Scorsese has made a few bad movies, not a lot though. Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, King of Comedy, Mean Streets, The Departed, After Hours, The Last Temptation of Christ, Silence are all movies I’d say are “great” that are on his resume. I’d call The Wolf of Wall Street, The Color of Money and Hugo “good”. I think Gangs of New York, Cape Fear, and Shutter Island were” fine”.

Cuaron has Roma, Gravity, Children of Men, and Y Tu Mama Tambien. Name one bad film that he’s made.

Denis Villeneuve has Prisoners, Arrival, BR 2049, Sicario, and Incendies. A pretty good resume if I say so myself.

The Dark Knight, Memento, and Inception are great films. Batman Begins, Insomnia, and The Prestige were good. Nolan has definitely made good films or else why would he be so celebrated?

I am mexican and i think that Cuaron is higly overestimated, he is not as good director.

Del Toro is a far better director and filmaker…

VERY short list: Bennett Miller so far. Maybe Ben Affleck. Coens far as I’m concerned (even Ladykillers, even Caesar), and Nolan if not for DKR.
