I saw Little Big Man years ago at the theater. A very funny movie but so historically inaccurate that even the spots it says are Historical fact are not.

The tribes at the Washita were NOT on Indian Land. That was former Chocktaw-Chikasaw land lost with they joined the South in the Civil War. The Cheyenne reservation was between the Cimarron river and the Arkansas River, south of the Kansas line. They did get the Washita area in the 1870s but NOT in 1868.

Custer was not trying to be nominated for President of the US. At that time the candidates of both parties had already been chosen.
Hickock was not killed by a kid.

Still a funny movie!

Great list (I haven’t seen many of these).
The one ToC/Prime list that leaves off Bone Tomahawk hahhaaha (fair enough, since it’s been on so many).
I guess we’re operating under the assumption that The Proposition is too well-known for this.
If I’m doing that thing directors always do – take a movie that vaguely has elements of a genre and call it your fav of that genre – I’d add Way Of The Gun (2000) to the list
