I stumbled across this article after just finishing Exiled on Prime video and looking for more Johnnie To works. Halfway through this list, I realized that I had already enjoyed a handful of these as a teenager. I find it delightful that one man’s vision has brought me so much enjoyment of HK cinema over the years, and I suppose it probably says something about me that I gravitate so much towards the recurrent themes in To’s films.
