I thought The Matrix got some of its ideas from World on a Wire. I should note that The Island was in some ways a rip-off of Logan's Run.

Lets not forget about ghost in the shell, besides numerous visual inspiration from the animation, plugging yourself into a matrix like network is also in ghost. Now if you want to get really pendantic both the manga and the first shadowrun edition came out in 89 i think so you kinda hit a wall at that point.
