Besides Science of the Lambs:
Psycho (1961)
Carrie (1977) and
Dead Ringers (1988), just off the top of my Fan Boy head.

I just watched get out and I truly believe the author was hypnotised to put it second on the list. It’s just a regular suspense movie, just entertaining; I would never rate it higher than darkest hour or Dunkirk, the other ones I’ve seen from the nominees, NEVER.
Again, it’s a regular suspense movie with several cliches about black people. And it totally ruins the suspense it creates with bad jokes and all the stuff about Chris’s friend. Those parts of the movie are huge mistakes and even without them I wouldn’t nominate it for the Oscar

I haven’t seen Phantom Thread yet. Dunkirk, Ladybird and call me by your name are easily the bottom 3 for me

If boring automatically equals artistic, sure.

9. Call Me By Your Name (2 stars)
8. Get Out (3 stars)
7. The Shape Of Water (3 stars)
6. Darkest Hour (3 stars)
5. The Post (3 stars)
4. Dunkirk (5 stars)
3. Phantom Thread (5 stars)
2. Lady Bird (5 stars)
1. Three Billboards (5 stars)

I would easily replace the films I ranked from 5 to 9 with many better 2017 efforts, including Baby Driver, American Made, All The Money In The World, The Big Sick, Blade Runner 2049, The Last Jedi, Wind River…

Spielberg doesn’t have much craftmanship, though The Post is actually well directed it fails in all the rest

2. Phantom Thread among PTA’s less essential works??? Nah, it’s actually one of his best.
3.TBOM at n.1?? Nah, i enjoyed the film, but there were SO MANY BETTER FILMS this year.
