About 95% of these winners were not the best of their years. Academy’s choices for the most part are safe, political and unimaginitive. In one word – god awful.

Synecdoche NY; Eternal Sunshine; The Tree of Life; Lost in Translation… a lot of competitors

Though sadly competing in the same year as There will Be Blood. The two films are equal. Probably the best America films of the last twenty years.

I thought the same thing re: this years Best Picture winner. How many other films on this list dropped as the years went by. I am notbsaying it does not deserve #5 spot – just that it is way too soon to be ranking it on this list.

On this list Greenbook is the best, this movie has it all. The Departed is an excellent film. There are a few more good ones on here but the rest, wake me up when they’re over.

It’s miraculous and the more I think about it, the more I admire its genius.

Excuse me while I pull a quote from my review of this film…

“For many purists and fans of Batman, they know Batman as simply as one
thing. A superhero who brings fear to his enemies. This Batman however,
doesn’t scare you. He doesn’t even do anything but make a fool of
himself and say the most inane things while carrying a credit card. That
is not Batman! Batman doesn’t go out, stop for Big Macs, hitting on
women, fighting criminals with lame gadgets, and having to breast-feed
Robin. NO!!!! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, HELL TO THE NO!!!!!!”
