Family Plot, though not a great film, is better than everything Hitchcock made from the beginning of his career and up to the original The Man Who Knew Too Much. That’s almost 20 films.

Blade II was not a bad movie. It was the best of the Blade Series. Anyone expecting Citizen Kane is misguided. Del Torro directed a great action-horror movie and that is the best you can expect.

Family Plot is very far from being a disaster. It’s a great film, not on the level of Vertigo or Rebecca, but still, an incredibly entertaining and well-made film.

Like my previous comment said before it was removed: Family Plot, To the Wonder, Blade II, and Ghosts of Mars are all great, and choosing those as “bad films” only shows how little you’ve seen from those directors (or how superficial your takes on film are in general). And asserting that most of the directors in this list have “otherwise perfect” track records is absurd. This is very much a list in the lane of “a lot of people told me these films are bad, so they must be bad.”

OH COME ON!!!!! Blade II was awesome!!!! It is the best film of the entire series so far and it has a great look, it's funny, and has some awesome gore. If anything, del Toro's weakest film is Mimic though only slightly improved by its director's cut. Plus, I'm in that camp of those that liked To the Wonder.

I disagree with this list. I think Blade 2 is Del Toro’s best movie. And Dune holds up really well.

Lol what? Family Plot and Ghosts of Mars are both great… Topaz and Stage Fright are the big misses in Hitchcock’s library; and for Carpenter it’s either Dark Star or Pro-Life.

The title of this article should be “A lot of people told me these films are bad, so they must be bad.”
