Wow you saw The Ramones in 1977? I bet it was electrifying! Yes, their songs are short and sweet, I think they perform seven or eight of them in Rock & Roll High School.

Lisztomania? Maybe 40 years ago.
I saw The Ramones in an Irish pub in 1977. They only played for about 45 min, because all their songs are 90 seconds long. Gabba Gabba HEY!

Of course those two, but Priscilla and Hedwig have been on cable a bunch. Phantom of the Paradise used to be on late night TV, back when there was such a thing.

The Wall was a fairly popular film when I was at University. There were a couple of years where it seemed to be playing in every dorm room I visited.

So I stand by the comment that “some” of them are mainstream, and I also recommend The Lure as a very entertaining and bizarre musical that did not get enough play.

Sorry, which of these are mainstream? Maybe Little Shop of Horrors and I guess Cry-Baby but that’s it.
