Romero. They filmed it in Evans City, PA. I live about ten miles from there. The Onion Field, Eyes of Laura Mars, The Brood, I don't consider these forgotten.

I'd forgotten about The Silent Partner. Christopher Plummer was downright scary in that one. As I recall, John Candy had a small role in that.

Wait, really? I thought it was one of his better known early movies… )-:
I gotta say, I wish I hadn't known about the situation this story was written in; the fact that Cronenberg was going through a divorce is really obvious in so much of this story. But then, I was kinda looking for it, since I already knew. I wonder if that would have occurred to me if I hadn't known.
Also… way back when I was growing up, there was a book in our (very small) town library about cult movies. 'The Brood" was one of them, and one of the images used in the book is the scene where the Brood are attacking Candice. the couple's little girl. All you can see are their hands, which are pretty bloody, and this led me to believe that they were gonna be way more deformed and body horror-esque then they actually are… I actually finished it and thought, "Not weird as I thought it would be…"

Nice to see Prime Cut on here (and Night Moves is one of the best of the decade).

Nickel Ride (1974) starring a never better Jason Miller (Exorcist).
The Laughing Policeman (1973) Matthau and Bruce Dern.
Born to Win (1971) the prototype for Good Time/Uncut Gems.
The Silent Partner (1978) featuring a menacing Christopher Plummer
Busting (1974) a dark buddy comedy with Elliott Gould and Robert Blake
Plus some that might be more well known: Straight Time, Across 100th Street, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia
