I prefer Blue Ruin, and Green Room left me cold on first watch (some of that clunky dialogue you mentioned) but overall it’s pretty damn thrilling.

Look into Miss Bala (2011). Pretty intense. Remade in English with Gina Rodriguez in 2019, but the original Mexican version is more intense and gritty.

I found Green Room a bit of a missed opportunity tbh. When I first put it on I thought we’d get an exploration of underground nazi/skinhead music culture but it just went into (imo) a fairly average survival thriller.

Also kinda irked me when towards the end the band said their ‘real’ favourite artists, like there was an implication punk and metal fans are living a lie… Maybe I’m reading too much into that though
