I’d actually like to mention Salò too. I get that it’s very widely known and influenced quite a few filmmakers, but I’ve seen more people totally dismiss it as excessive and disgusting for excessive and disgusting’s sake than people who actually try to see what Pasolini was getting at, and why he went to such extreme measures to get his point across. For this, I’d class it as ‘underrated’
