Taxi Driver needs to be included here for sure. Not sure Dog Day Afternoon falls under thriller either

The Godfather’s not at all, crime-drama. Taxi Driver is kinda debatable I guess, but definitely way more drama than thriller

I have never even heard of that film. I like Barry Pepper but I don’t see him as Ripley.

Ever see Ripley Under Ground (2005) with Barry Pepper as Tom Ripley? Was okay as a pedestrian thriller, but not as a Highsmith novel adaptation. Some campy overacting by Alan Cumming and silly comic relief made it uneven.

The Gambler (1974) – one of Caan’s greatest performances. Sorvino great too
Short Eyes (1977) – a difficult-watch prison drama
Black Sunday (1977) – Robert Shaw and a completely unhinged Bruce Dern
