Well yeah, but he’s realistic to a point I’m not sure he can even really be classed as a superhero. He has no superhuman abilities, just money, gadgets, and a lot of training. I mean, where do we draw the line? Is James Bond a superhero? V from V for Vendetta?

Fair enough. But Batman is a more realistic superhero than any other. And what an arsenal of tools(Bat signal, Bat cave, Bat bike etc.)

I do love those, particularly Batman Begins, but to me superhero films should be more focussed on great moral lessons for kids, while being just solid fun. The themes in Nolan’s Batman like fear, justice and revenge surely run deep, but honestly I only got to really appreciate them as an adult. But Raimi’s Spidey is a wholesome character anyone can love, and anyone can learn from.

Also, as much as I love Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman’s score for the Spider-Man films is soooo much better than what Zimmer did for Batman. Surely you can give me that one?

I haven’t seen the Spider-Verse movies, I really should get round to it. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 is like the peak of the superhero genre for me

Shoplifters is not for me. It’s just I can’t go through that again with unbearable characters and barely any production values. But I’m open to revisiting other works of Koreeda. I didn’t particularly like Spider-Man Into the Spider Verse (the first one) but I will give that another chance at some point

‘Like Father, Like Son’ is probably my favourite of his. I’ll rewatch The English Patient if you give that one a shot. And if you don’t like that one either, Kore-eda might just not be for you

No I have not seen any other Koreeda movie. I’m open to watching them but not Shoplifters again. Yes. The performances are terrible. That male uncle lead annoyed the hell out of me.
