BLOW OUT by Brian De Palma is a thriller, a serious candidate for the title of “number one thriller” and one of the best movies all times combined.
BLOW UP is not a thriller at all.
It’s a pompous and pretentious arthouse film.
BLOW UP is very slow moving, absolutely boring and soporific!
A real piece of shit!

seen Blow Up, Sexy Beast (Ben Kingsley is INSANE in this one), The Vanishing (really good European classic) and Sorcerer (great american version of french classic The Wages of Fear which itself is a great mvie)

Sorcerer has an all-time great/underrated score – makes the film. It’s Tangerine Dream (Thief, Risky Business, Miracle Mile [OK, I just listed their films I love, but their work is comprehensive]).
House of Games is a lesser ‘conman’ flick but it’s worth checking out – just go along for the fun ride.

All good picks. I'm surprised you don't mention that Sorcerer is a remake of Henri Georges Cluzout's Wages of Fear which is just as good if not better. Also Cluzout's Diaboliques which has one of the best pre-1960 plot twists.

I’ve seen 7 of these films and own a few of them on DVD. Sexy Beast is scary. Notably for Ben Kingsley’s Don Logan character as I think he would survive a battle royale to the death against the likes of… Thanos, Anton Chigurh, the Joker (Heath Ledger version), and Col. Hans Landa.
