However, this kind of thing is subjective. For you, they might be mediocre, but for others, they are masterpieces.

Synecdoche NY is just a great film, no more, if I’m talking about the general critical receptions here.

That being said, it depens on personal preference. But back to my first point, there’s no point for whining piece of shit just because their taste opposes you.

He doesn’t kill anyone he doesn’t have to. There is a lot depth towards his character which people miss and scoff that he is just another psycho. Try watching this film again but now see it through the eyes of Tommy Lee Jone’s character cuz he is the main character even though he has the least screen time. His scenes are actually the key to understanding the film.

Could’ve included some/(at least a) horror flick. Saw, Paranormal Activities, something along those lines. While these aren’t “great” their influences have reverberated among massively successful genre flicks.
