One of my all-time favorites. Back to the Future (another of my all-time favorites) is a bit of a zany comedy, but it is underrated as a science fiction movie about time travel. It deals with one of the many theories of how time travel could work in an accessible way with just enough bits of the theory in there for sci-fi nerds like me to dig into. I hadn't thought of Akira in a long time. I'll have to rewatch it.

The Thing, remake is so bad, it sucks a golf ball thru a hose. It has good special effects, but is nothing but blood and guts.
There's no story line . That's just my opinion, much like who ever did this list. Remember opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one and most stink., and that's the case here.
WHAT A STINKER

Jesus Christ. Everyone understands the movie is horror, but it also falls under sci-fi. Both things can be correct. Stop whining about stupid labels.

If you had a brick and mortar video store which section would you put The Thing under: Horror or Sci Fi

The Thing is absolutely sci-fi. Something can belong in two different categories.

It gets an old curmudgeon like me welled-up every time.

Doesn't belong on a Sci-Fi list (neither does Fly)
