I don´t really find Black Hawk Down patriotic, after all it shows an utter failure by the american military, and doesn´t ever, in opinion at least, portray anyone as heroes, but simply men in a kill or be killed situation. When the casualties numbers pop up at the end, that is a direct stab at the american millitary, showing that yes 19 americans died, but at the cost of over a 1000 somalians; that is not patriotism, that is a direct critique.
