Some one mentioned Bedazzled which I absolutely adore. A more modern classic would be Four Lions.

I have to agree on Withnail…I’m not a luddite when it comes to movies, but this one escaped me. I didn’t even finish it because I really couldn’t bring myself to care what happens to these repulsive people. There are several “great movies” that have not worked for me.

An Everlasting Piece (2000) Colm is a Catholic and George is a poetry-loving Protestant. In Belfast in the 1980s, they could have been enemies, but instead they became business partners.

It’s actually Withnail* and I… and I think you should have another look at it… but to be honest that is usually what happens with people who watch the film… either they end up loving it to death [it changed my life – LITERALLY TOOK A DIFFERENT PATH in Life because of that beautiful film] or they end up not getting it and saying it is overrated…. in my opinion that script should be put in the the literary canon of english literature … i m serious…
