A flawed film that has stuck with me (significantly more so than many films I consider to be better works, which is interesting) since I first experienced it (has it really been over twenty years?) – and IS, among other things, a haunting meditation on loneliness and connection is Kairo (2001, d. Kiyoshi Kurosawa). I recommend it.
