Justice League, however, is just mediocre. It’s just an average, run-of-the-mill comic book movie. This doesn’t make is bad necessarily but it does make it incredibly disappointing. To be fair, though, the state of the DCEU didn’t give me high expectations and Justice League ended up being at least better than BvS and Suicide Squad.

But i have also came to the idea the “Follywood” believes everyone is a raving maniac. Not to have an ounce of grey matter in their heads. I have noticed most reboots are farces of the original show or movie. If this is a recurring motif to keep coming then maybe they should get out of the movie business, I’ve seen web based movie makers do better than Follywood did.

Eh, the thing about that is that John Wick 1, just like John Wick 2, isn’t about the story for me. If a movie isn’t about the story, whether or not it wraps up and is “self-contained” is sort of irrelevant, no? Both of those movies are more like performance art, it’s about the audio/visual experience, the art of action movies, and 2 topped the first one in that respect. I mean jesus just that opening scene where he uses his car as a whip to send a dude flying is more viscerally effective than anything in the first movie. It starts off running and never stops.

David… I understand where you’re coming from with JW1, but I thought it worked well given it was the first installment. I don’t expect they were entirely certain if JW1 would do well enough to warrant a sequel. Seems these days, there aren’t enough films that are self-contained, in other words not leaving some threads dangling to fire off a sequel with. It’s a nice change to get a film that has an actual beginning, middle, and proper end.
