Sorry, my bad.

I would also mention “The Hidden” (1987), virtually unknown, but intensely fascinating and extremely watchable.

Walter Hill is insanely under-rated. SOUTHERN COMFORT is a wonderful film. I also have a weakness for EXTREME PREJUDICE. I did cartwheels when I read the WGA gave him their “Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement” this year. So there’s no argument here. That’s why I called you out earlier. Bergkamp asked about me which of the films mentioned did I think were worth revisiting. So I didn’t understand why you’d give me a thumbs down w/o backing up why the ones i didn’t mention blah, blah, blah…you get where I’m coming from? I like when it’s friendly and there’s a joyous, generous “sharing”. Who the fuck wants to fight in type?

I didn’t care enough to look it up, but I wondered that same thing. Lol

These sound like uncanny valley Seinfeld movies.

He was once a bigger star than Tom Cruise being younger. But still he got the Oscar nomination and leads a Von Tier film after three decades. Not bad. But still.

Sorry i hurt your feelings but i reserve the right to thumb down a comment..! Youtube cancelled the thumbs down button, i guess this is why. But real issue it seems to me is surely why not a soul has mentioned “Southern Comfort” (1981) which should be the first name penciled in in this category. It’s the most American film imaginable – it is pure Americana to a tee, the very definition; hardly anyone knows of it let alone has seen it; by a legendary film maker; its neither a genre piece, explication flick nor is it a obscure/niche market/cult type of thing – rather, it’s a picture which by all rights should be as famous and celebrated as Deliverance..but it’s even less known than countless vastly inferior comparable productions from the decade, such as for instance Sorcerer.

Maybe plop Love Streams on there too.
(Is Miracle Mile underseen enough to qualify?)
But if we are just talking awesome, that tend to be more on the genre side…
Walking the Edge
Foxes
Times Square
Shakedown….
